Voyager/dr. Mavretič

On 25th of August 2012 NASA has announced that the space satellite Voyager 1, which has reached the distance of 19.000.000.000 km from the Earth, has left our Solar System. On the Solar Plasma instrument inside the satellite, a name is engraved on a golden plate - Anton Mavretič. 

The exhibition VOYAGER/DR. MAVRETIČ focuses on the recognition of the work of the space technology engineer dr. Anton Mavretič who has been actively developing space technologies for the past fourty years. Among other things he developed the PLS instrument, which is still being used on the space satellite Voyager. In cooperation with Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Cultural Centre of European Space Technologies will for the first time in history present the PLS instrument to the world public. 

Produced by KSEVT, the exhibition will also include the new artwork VOYAGER/ 140 AU, which questions the last moments of life of the biggest accomplishments of human civilization.
